Beethovenx Reliquary ties maBEETS rewards and voting power to position maturity

Beethovenx Reliquary uses maturity to determine reward and voting levels for each maBEETS position. Keeping a position allows its maturity to grow; activating a higher level requires a manual level-up. A full exit forfeits the accumulated maturity. The project adopted Beets branding during its transition to Sonic, where maBEETS uses a BEETS/stS liquidity-pool stake. The choice is whether to maintain that position's age or release its stake, while accounting for the underlying assets.

A higher maBEETS level changes reward weight, while the quarterly budget determines how much funding supports those rewards.

A level-up activates an eligible position's higher level

If the active level lags behind the position's eligible maturity, the level-up action addresses that missed activation. Withdrawing and creating a replacement position would surrender the age already accumulated.

Activating an eligible level retains the existing position and applies its increased reward and voting level, while a full exit releases the stake and gives up the maturity its holding time has already accumulated. Before approving an action, decide whether you want to retain that history or leave the position.

  • Identify the maBEETS position through its non-fungible token (NFT) receipt.
  • Check the position's eligible maturity before activating a higher level.
  • Keep the existing stake when the purpose is to activate its eligible benefits.
  • Account for lost maturity before choosing a full withdrawal.
  • Confirm the updated level in the position's recorded state or receipt of the stake withdrawn in a full exit before continuing.

A full exit gives up accumulated maturity

Closing a maBEETS position forfeits its accumulated maturity. The design allows an exit without a compulsory maturity lock. That flexibility matters when access to the stake becomes more useful than retaining an established reward level. Returning later creates a new position whose benefits follow its own maturity; the age of a position you closed doesn't remain available for reuse.

Traditional vote-escrow models tie voting power to a lock's duration, while Reliquary's maBEETS design rewards the time a position remains held and allows the holder to decide when to exit the position.

The maturity cost belongs to the maBEETS position. Redeeming pool assets or unstaking underlying stS follows the rules of those separate contracts.

Weekly maturity and the active level measure different states

Elapsed holding time establishes maturity, while a manual level-up activates the next eligible reward and voting level. maBEETS maturity progresses weekly. The Sonic maBEETS design described in March 2025 reaches maximum maturity at week 11. That limit describes the maturity schedule, not an annual yield or a promised token payout. Continued holding beyond the ceiling doesn't establish an additional maturity tier under that design.

Read the position's recorded maturity alongside its active level when interpreting an apparent mismatch. An older position can qualify for an upgrade it hasn't activated yet. The next eligible level concerns future reward and voting weight; elapsed time alone doesn't demonstrate that the position already uses it. Maximum maturity also says nothing about the market value of its underlying tokens or the amount a future budget will distribute.

The NFT receipt connects maturity with a specific liquidity stake

Sonic maBEETS uses a weighted pool token backed by an 80% BEETS and 20% stS allocation. These weights describe shares of pool value, not the number of token units deposited. That stake retains exposure to both assets as it matures. BEETS supplies most of the target exposure, while stS carries the underlying Sonic staking exposure. A higher maturity level changes the position's reward and governance benefits; it doesn't turn that liquidity stake into a fixed-value holding.

The financial NFT records position size, maturity, voting power and reward distribution. Those details identify the stake whose age matters, so an NFT count alone doesn't describe a wallet's governance influence. A mature receipt for a smaller stake and a less mature receipt for a larger stake don't establish a ranking from age alone.

Weighted-pool exposure can lose value even while maturity increases.

Reward funding qualifies the benefit of a higher level

A higher maturity level changes reward and voting weight within the maBEETS system. The available funding and the position's recorded size still affect its economic value. A maturity tier isn't a fixed interest rate. Reward weight describes entitlement within the system; it can't establish how much BEETS a position will receive in every future period.

The Beets DAO approves the quarterly BEETS emissions budget. The Music Director Committee proposes the budget and manages emissions within its approved mandate, while changes beyond that mandate require a community vote before the committee can apply them to the distribution of BEETS. Budget decisions also set protocol-revenue allocations. These rules separate the position's maturity from the funds available to reward participation, and a past quarter's allocation doesn't establish the allocation for another quarter.

maBEETS voting power also helps direct farm emissions through weighted gauge votes. The vote determines which eligible liquidity pools receive incentives. Those farm allocations concern the selected pools, while the maBEETS position carries its own reward entitlement.

Fantom and Sonic maBEETS use different underlying assets

The transition to Sonic changed maBEETS' underlying asset mix while retaining the maturity-adjusted governance concept. Fantom maBEETS used an 80/20 BEETS/wFTM pool. Sonic maBEETS uses BEETS/stS, so the second asset adds liquid-staking exposure rather than the wrapped FTM exposure of the older arrangement. Reliquary extends the MasterChef reward-distribution approach with position maturity, but the name alone doesn't identify the assets in a particular deployment.

The Fantom-to-Sonic migration involved withdrawing the old position's assets and constructing the Sonic position after the required asset conversions. A token bridge moves assets; it doesn't by itself recreate the old position's recorded maturity. For an older holding, decide whether to replace BEETS/wFTM exposure with BEETS/stS and rebuild maturity in a new Sonic position.

Questions and answers

Do BEETS tokens in my wallet build Reliquary maturity?

Holding BEETS in a wallet doesn't create the maBEETS position whose age Reliquary measures. Sonic maBEETS uses a staked liquidity-pool position with BEETS and stS exposure. Its NFT receipt records the position's maturity and associated benefits. The time you have owned ordinary BEETS tokens doesn't substitute for holding that position.

Which token pays for a maBEETS level-up on Sonic?

S pays transaction fees on Sonic, including the network cost of a maBEETS level-up. The fee depends on the transaction's gas requirements and network pricing. A maturity tier doesn't specify a fixed gas bill, and the network fee is separate from the BEETS and stS exposure supporting the maBEETS position.

Can a mature maBEETS position receive gauge bounties without a vote?

Gauge bounties reward eligible votes for the pools offering those incentives. A mature maBEETS position supplies voting power, but holding it doesn't replace casting a vote. The voter's share depends on the weight of their vote within the pool they supported. These voting incentives differ from the position's own maturity-adjusted staking rewards.

Where do maBEETS gauge incentives arrive after a vote?

Gauge incentives can arrive as wallet airdrops or require a claim through the provider distributing them. The delivery method belongs to the particular incentive offer. A completed vote and its recorded weight don't establish that the payout has already reached the wallet. Check the actual token receipt or claim status for that incentive.

Does leaving Reliquary also complete an stS unstake?

Leaving maBEETS and redeeming stS through its staking contract are different operations. Exiting the maturity-adjusted position doesn't itself complete the stS redemption process. The stS mechanics described in March 2025 require a 14-day unbonding period followed by a claim of S. A DEX swap offers a separate liquidity route whose price depends on available pool liquidity.

Can I sell a mature maBEETS position instead of withdrawing it?

The maBEETS design supports secondary-market trading of its NFT position receipt. A sale transfers the position receipt to a buyer, while a withdrawal exits the stake. Listing the NFT doesn't mean a sale has completed. Its recorded size and maturity describe the position offered, but they don't establish an executable market price.
